A transition is a passage from one state, stage, subject, or place to another. As human beings and societies, transition is necessary. It may be scary at times, but it is necessary for us to remain safe enough and able to find new opportunities.

When we have balance we can move forward and to be honest, we can only move forward when we can keep our balance.

While it is important to have respect and recognition for the past, for roots, for institutions that have proven their value, for promises that were made, for expectations that were formed, and valuable natural ecosystems. It is also important to keep stepping forward, make room for progress and evolving ideals. We need to have the courage to invest in new assets or innovations offering new opportunities.

The other question is who is moving forward with you? Do you wish to move forward while building your community or do you want to see your community dissipate? Do you have a plan in place to deal with existing legitimate expectations? Do you foresee compensations for the loss of those whose prior expectations or entitlements are no longer met? Do they notice you care?

To weave a community that can learn to become stronger than its individual parts , we occasionaly organize an event, called Summanity. It is a round table talk with lay persons and knowledgeable experts from around the world. This helps us build awareness, and share solutions that have worked.
